Yacht Delivery

There are various methods that we offer for delivery of your Yacht
Here is a breakdown of the services that we provide, and the answers to typical questions:

We pride ourselves in providing a high level of customer support and satisfaction and will go out of our way to taylor the delivery to your requirements whether it be a fully crewed delivery, an assisted delivery - with the owner(s) onboard or perhaps just one or two further crew members to aid your passage, leaving you assured that you have confidence, professionalism and experience on your side

What do we deliver?
We usually deliver both Power and Sail Vessels up to 200 gross tonnes as this is the maximum weight of which our Yachtmaster Skippers are qualified for. If the vessel exceeds 200 gross tonnes arrangement can be made for further qualified Skippers/Captains and also a larger professional crew who are more suited to the ranked roles onboard.
We often undertake short, day or weekend deliveries, maneuvering yachts in preparation for races, regattas or for the owner who wishes his vessel to be more readily accessible for a holiday or short break.

Who are the crew?
Our crews are put together from carefully selected professionals, and are vetted thoroughly, many of whom sail together socially or are good friends. We favour this approach as it reduces onboard politics and means that the crew know they are working with people they can trust, thus ensuring a much smoother running of the vessel.
All of our regular Skippers & the majority of mates, are at a minimum Yachtmaster Offshore qualified, which means they can take charge of vessels up to 200 gross tonnes. We have qualified Skippers for both Sail and Power Vessels, all of whom are well experienced in handling and managing Yachts and Crew professionally and in the safest way possible ensuring your vessel is treated with the utmost care, as if it were their own.
In addition to Yachtmaster qualifications, most of the Skippers, mates, and crew are also qualified in Long Range Radio, GMDSS, Radar & ARPA, STCW95, Fire Fighting, Ship Security (SSO) and First Aid.

Which areas do we cover?
The majority of our deliveries take place in UK waters, French and Spanish (including Biscay), Portuguese and also throughout the Mediterranean. We are also prepared to undertake Transatlantic deliveries should your vessel be suitable for the passage, as we have no limits on duration or areas navigated, and can provide a dedicated delivery package to suit your needs.

What happens with Insurance?
We will require your vessel to be fully insured, and copies of all relevant documents to be provided for reference including the P&I (Protection & Indemnity) section of your policy clarifying that crew members are covered.
In addition, all our Skippers are insured up to £2,000,000 Liability on any one claim, in the event that the Hull and Liability insurance policy (maintained by you, the owner) in respect of the contracted vessel does not respond to any liability claim for which the Skipper is responsible. Before departure we will ensure that the vessel complies with all the relevant Laws, conforms with any applicable safety regulations and obtain any permits or Licenses required by Law of any countries having jurisdiction over the waters in which we will navigate the vessel.

What do do we require of the vessel before we depart on delivery?
It is not essential that a survey is taken out prior to a delivery, however if the vessel is to be sold upon arrival you will have most likely arranged for the vessel to be surveyed anyway, in which case we would appreciate a copy. The vessel needs to be seaworthy, with on deck equipment (Winches & Blocks), sails, rigging, and engine, all in good working condition, with key equipment having adequate spares and tools available for maintenance - A full check list will be sent to you upon application for delivery
